Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Hon. Bright Wireku Brobbey, has tasked Ghanaians to re-dedicate their efforts with regards to chid labour.

This according to him, by protecting the child where many hazards exist, it will boost the confidence level of the child. And also make them independent.

Speaking at the media launch of this year’s World Day Against Child Labour, the minister said there was the need for the media to play a vital role in looking forward to the UN Sustainable Developmental Goal Target.

This year’s event dubbed under the theme “Children Shouldn’t Work in Fields, but On Dreams”. It also coincides with the 100 years of the International Labour Organisation(ILO) in advancing social justice and promoting decent work.

He added that, this year’s event will look back on the progress achieved over a 100 years of ILO supporting countries on tackling child labour.
