Laryea Kingson Calling For Peaceful 2016 Election

Former Ghanaian International, Laryea Kingson has called on his compatriots to maintain peace in the country before, during and after the 2016 General election.

Ghana goes to the polls later this year and as part of his role as the Peace Ambassador, former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah will lead a host of international football icons, of which Kingson forms part, in the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games.

The 2016 Vodafone Unity Games will be played on June 8 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and at the Accra Sports Stadium on June 11

Addressing the media at a press Soiree organised by Primeval Media in Accra on Friday night, Laryea, a former Hearts of Oak and Hearts of Midlovian winger expressed hope that Ghana will remain a beacon of peace after the 2016 elections.

“We stand for football in this country so we are using football to unite this country”, he said, adding that, ” I hope everyone will be calm and do the right things during the election. And as everyone knows that Ghana has been one of the most peaceful countries in the world, we will remain the same”
