KWESI NYANTAKYI RESIGNS FROM FIFA, CAF & WAFU POSITIONS AFTER CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS.

Former Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi has decided to withdraw his roles as Fifa Council member, Caf Vice President and Wafu Zone B President with immediate effect, following allegations of corruption.
Last week, Nyantakyi was handed a 90-day suspension by the world’s football governing body in the wake of corruption allegations that stemmed from a documentary premiered in Ghana on June 6th and 7th.
He was pictured apparently accepting a $65,000 bribe from an undercover reporter pretending to be a businessman from a Middle Eastern company wanting to invest in Ghanaian football.
Nyantakyi, who became Fifa council member in 2016, was expected to travel to Russia this week ahead of the organisation’s general assembly on the sidelines of the World Cup, but the ban prevented him from traveling.
Instead, Ashanti Regional FA chairman Osei Tutu Agyemang will be Ghana’s only representative at the gathering, after the authorities reportedly cancelled flight arrangements for former general secretary Isaac Addo and former executive committee member Wilfred Osei Kwaku.

Nyantakyi was among dozens of African officials exposed by Anas.

On 8 June, due to the documentary, the Ghanaian government dissolved the country’s FA.

Ghana is expected to vote for fellow African country Morocco which is bidding to host the 2026 World Cup.
