The Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu, in a recent interview with Pink FM’s host, Kofi Asamoah Aning, has asked MP for Assin Central to apologize to Parliament on his remarks.
According to the Majority Leader in Parliament, who doubles as the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong may be found guilty when he faces the Parliament’s Privileges Committee for calling the Parliament “useless”. Mr Kyei-Mensah compared Kennedy’s remarks to that of Blakk Rasta remarks when he (the later) called the Members of Parliament for smoking and using “wee”.
“When he was found guilty of the remarks, though he wasn’t a Member in Parliament, the committee forgave him for demonstrating good behaviour and warned him not to do that again,Kennedy Ohene Agyapong if found guilty of calling the Parliament useless should also apologize.Butif he doesn’t apologized then he should get ready on what is going to happen to him”, he stipulated.
Meanwhile, the Honourable was on the view that, the language Hon Ken used was “quite unfortunate” and even heard his name been mentioned in the tape but will let the Committee take his course.
When asked by the host Kofi Asamoah Aning if he is bothered he replied that until the full tape is played at the Committee and know the content, he can’t say anything about it. He further explained, “Kennedy Agyapong personally, called me and my wife to apologized for saying that and, has also make a public apology on his station”. The MP revealed on ‘Omanbapa Kasa’ that Kennedy and him are very close friends.
Hon Kennedy Ohene Agyapong was referred to the Privileges Committee by Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka for describing Parliament as a “useless” institution and “cheap” on his network. However, he has been on the view on that some issues caused him to say what he said. Again, has disagreed with the allegation and said those portraying that were just being “diabolic.”
