New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff have been confirmed.
Trusted lieutenant Rui Faria has become the Red Devils’ assistant manager.
Mourinho first met Faria at Barcelona before he worked as Mourinho’s fitness coach during his time in charge of Uniao de Leiria in Portugal and followed him to Chelsea (twice), Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
Silvino Louro-He has worked with a range of top keepers including Petr Cech and Julio Cesar but is expected to take up a general coaching role. The 57-year-old also worked with Mourinho at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
Silvino Louro, who has been with Mourinho for more than a decade having started out as his goalkeeping coach, has also been named as one of four coaches joining the Portuguese at Old Trafford.
Ricardo Formosinho and Carlos Lalin – who also have previous experience working with the Portuguese – and Emilio Alvarez have all been confirmed as members of the coaching staff along with analyst Giovanni Cerra.
Carlos Lalin: Fitness specialist Lalin will be busy during the next few weeks as his main task is making sure the players Mourinho has inherited are fit and raring to go ahead of their opening Premier League fixture against Bournemouth. He took up a similar role at Chelsea.
Emilio Alvarez: Despite Louro being among Mourinho’s coaching staff, it is Alvarez who will look after David de Gea, Sergio Romero and Co.
