INSTANT NOODLES; HARMFUL TO OUR HEALTH?

Instant noodles (Ramen) come in distinct varieties ranging from small, medium and in large sizes. These noodles are foods which have been pre-processed to reduce preparation time making it easier and convenient to prepare.

Ah yes, instant noodles is fast, cheap and tasty while crave for its consumption is inexplicable fast catching up with our recent generation and households. Mouth watery advertisement of these food lives an indelible mark on us and incites even our very aged to have a taste.

The truth is, inasmuch as this sounds good, it is also very unhealthy considering the preservatives used and studies have also shown that high sodium consumption is linked to a variety of diseases, stroke, cancer and kidney damage.

According to the Consumers Association of Penang (CAP), instant noodles are junk foods and are highly processed food that lacks nutritive value. Every single serving of noodles is high in sodium, carbohydrates and additives, but low on essential elements such as vitamins and fiber. The use of sodium additives is the main reason why instant noodles are high in sodium.

One might tell you how tasty noodle is, or go on to educate you on how to cook a delicious noodle of all kind. But what they can’t tell is what it actually does once it gets to the stomach; it might not have an instant effect but continues consumption might trigger a lifetime health complications.
