Inhabitants of the Kasoa old market have registered their displeasure on the inadequate urinal facilities at Kasoa old market.
Speaking to one of the drivers he complained bitterly about how authorities didn’t provide an alternative urinal when they moved out of their main station.
According to him, before the construction of the new station begun they had a place they could attend to nature’s call but when they moved out because of the construction work, they suffer before they get a place to ease themselves.
The driver (name withheld), also stated that due to the absence of immediate urinal facilities, people tend to urinate by shops nearby.
“Ever since they moved us out of the main market, we really suffer when easing ourselves. Sometimes we have to walk for long distances before we get one”, he lamented.
He also spoke about the fact that the situation affects some passengers who want to ease themselves before the car is ready to move.
“The lack of nearby urinal in a way also affects our passengers because most at times they have to walk for a long distance before they also get a place to ease themselves and I think this is a serious problem affecting us”
According to a vendor (name withheld) at the market, she also stressed on how they suffer when attending to nature’s call.
She said “the lack of nearby urinal really worries us. Before we will ease ourselves we will have to walk for long distances and keeping urine to you for long also has negative effects”.
“Some people urinate on the streets, in bottles and containers and they pour them in gutters some even leave the bottles on the streets and the stench is very bad”, she added.
