I HAVE NOT BEEN SERVED BY PARLIAMENT- KENNEDY AGYAPONG

Assin Central Member of Parliament

Though reports say Kennedy Agyapong will be hauled before the privileges committee today, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central says he has not been served by the Parliament.

The MP says: “Yes, I have seen reports that I will today be hauled before parliament. I even called them just to be sure but I was told that I have not been called so where from all that report”.

Ken Agyapong, was cited for contempt for calling the legislature a cheap and useless Assembly.

He’d therefore on the back of his utterances been hauled before the Privileges Committee of Parliament by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu, who presided over sitting on 6th June, 2018 for questioning, over his outburst which Members consider very denigrating.

Mr. Agypong, according to a complaint lodged on the floor of the House by the Minority Chief Whip, Hon. Mohammed Mubarak-Muntaka, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, referred to Parliament a “Cheap” and “Useless House” without which it wouldn’t have somebody like Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu as a leader.

But speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” Tuesday, the politician said though he has not been served by Parliament, he is ready to face the committee.

According to him, he only expressed misgivings about  Mubarak-Muntaka but did not mean to attack anyone.

Kennedy Agyapong says: “I am ever ready to face the committee regardless. I am not afraid of anyone and will tell it as it is. I have not been served by anyone and so if they call me I will respond to them. I didn’t mean to attack him but just to tell him how dump he is”.

Meanwhile, the Assin Central MP has promised to show the premiere of, “Who watches the watchman” on Wednesday, June 27 at the forecourt of Oman FM, at Madina in Accra.

The video, which he says is his own version of secret recordings of how ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, operates undercover, will be shown at 7 pm.
