The Regional Minister for the Volta Region, Dr. Archibald Letsa on the ‘Omanbapa Kasa’ show on Pink FM gave details on the President’s three- day tour in the Volta Region of Ghana.
According to the Honourable minister, the President was given a warm welcome on his arrival at Sogakope on Monday June 9.
He added that the President moved on to Anloga where they called on the Awomefia of Anlo, Togbui Sri III, with the Queen Mothers, Chiefs and elders.
His Excellency Nana Addo proceeded to the Anloga Shopping Centre where he inaugurated the shopping mall for business to commence. He then furthered his journey to the Keta Nursing/ Midwifery Training College where he also commissioned the Courage Quashigah Memorial Hostel.
His next move was to the Ketu North Municipality where his Excellency met with the Chiefs and inhabitants of the Southern part of the Volta Region. That marked the activities for day one.
Hon. Letsa indicated that on the day two of the tour, President Nana Addo continued his journey to the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, a facility put-up by the Nana Addo government in Ho. There, Hon. Letsa sited that the President met with some Chiefs of Ho “and it was such a grand ceremony”.
The President then continued to the University of Health and Allied Sciences. In the school, Hon. Archibald mentioned that, His Excellency inspected some ongoing projects on campus and further interacted with some students and staff of the University.
It was after the visitation to the University where they proceeded to Hohoe and had “a really grand durbar”, according to the honourable minister. They met with “Queen Mothers, Chiefs, some people and party people of the Middle belt of the Volta Region”.
Honourable Archibald Letsa made it known that, today the 11th of June is the last day of the President’s tour in the region. He is yet to inspect parts of the Eastern Corridor road, a part of the Hohoe-Jasikan Road. President Nana Addo will further attend a durbar of Chiefs and meet with people of the Northern sector of the Volta Region at Dambai.
He revealed that, “this is in line with the President’s policy of going out to the country side to see for himself what is going on and so far it’s been so good”.
His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has commenced a tour in the country for sod-cutting and the commission of projects. The President has so far visited the Brong Ahafo and Western Regions and currently, he is on a 3-day visit to the Volta Region.
