The Headmaster of Begoro A.M.E Zion school in the Fanteakwa District of Eastern Region, Mr. Odeneho Opare Philip has shown his dissatisfaction about the neglect of their school block which has been left unattended after rains ripped off the roof some years ago.
The roof of the building was ripped off on 20th May, 2014 due to a heavy downpour but ever since it has not been re-roofed by the appropriate authorities.
Speaking to PINKNEWS, the headmaster indicated that the numerous appeals to the Assembly have proved futile hence affecting teaching and learning.
“They always tell me there is no money for the project so I should come some other time,” He said.
He disclosed that the MP for the area who assisted could also not complete the project while the Assembly has also failed to even come and monitor the situation.
“The MP came to our aid but it’s unfortunate he could not complete the work, leaving some classrooms without roof,” Mr. Opare lamented.
He also disclosed the situation continues to affect education since school is always closed early anytime it is likely to rain.
He therefore pleaded with the government, the Assembly and stakeholders as matter of urgency to come to the support of the school
