Gunmen Attack Ofaakor Palace, 4 battling for life

Four persons have sustained gun wounds during a shooting incident at Kasoa.

The violence which took place at the Odupong-Ofaakor palace on Saturday caused fear and panick in the vicinity as some occupants of the palace fled for their lives.

According to what has been gathered Pinknews, the violence erupted out of disagreement over the burial place for one of the chiefs in the community, Akyeamehene Kwadwo Amoasu II.

For several minutes the palace of the chief of Odupong, Nai Odupong Awushie Tetteh II, was under siege by gunmen and took the intervention of the police to later restore calm at the palace.

Pinknews report also suggests that five suspects have been rounded up by the police for their alleged involvement in the crime.

In an interview with Pinknews, Odikro of Kasoa Nai Darko Ankrah who witnessed the action of the men said, this people came to the palace demanding for the body of the late Akyeamehene.

According to him, the men shot sporadically into the crowd which led to injuries.

The injured were conveyed to the Kasoa Polycyclic and Winneba Trauma and Specialist  hospital respectively.

Meanwhile Asafokye shark  Ayitey also narrated how the gunmen tried to shoot at him several times but failing.

Meanwhile, the Tufuhene of Odupong  Ofaakor, Kojo Asuman  has called on the IGP to make sure that justice prevails in this matter  since some perpetrators have been arrested.
