An eight-year-old girl has sustained severe injuries on her face and jaw after her grandmother mercilessly burnt her with a heated stone for returning late from school.
This sad incident happened at Kasoa Gada in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region.
According to the victim, her grandmother had told her to tell her teachers she had those injuries for stealing money in the house whenever her teachers asked her.
In an exclusive interview with Adom News, the eight-year-old girl narrated how she has suffered numerous maltreatments from her grandmother.
“This is the third time she has maltreated me. The first time she lashed me with a cane. The second time, she boiled water and placed my hand in it and now, after I refused to hold the heated stone in my palm as she instructed, she burnt my face and jaw with it ”, she recounted.
The grandmother has been arrested and is now in Ofaakor Police custody after Adom News’ Regional Correspondent, Kofi Adjei filed an official complaint.
