Ghana’s agricultural sector will see massive growth

An Economist, Dr. Kenneth Ofori Boateng is optimistic Ghana’s agricultural sector will see massive growth before the close of the year.

According to the figures released by the Ghana Statistical Service, Agriculture sector has so far grown by 7.6% in the first quarter of 2017 compared to last year.

The GDP at current prices for the first quarter was 44.8 million cedis compared to 36.2 million cedis recorded in 2016.

Dr. Kenneth Ofori Boateng has hopes that the Agric sector will top the GDP

“Agriculture is the back bone, in fact if you relate agriculture to poverty, you come to realize that we have much of our labour force in agriculture and so we all know Agric is the back bone of the economy given the fact that it employs a lot of labour force” he added.
