GHANAIAN PLAYER FREED FROM JAIL IN SWEDEN

Ghanaian player, Kwame Bonsu who was accused of raping his wife in Sweden and jailed for two years has been freed now.

During an interview at UTV, Kwame Bonsu professionally known as Kwame Konte expressed his sadness and regret for making a wrong choice which has caused him his life and left him penniless.

In addition, he advised viewers to be careful about the people they choose to be their life partners, moreover nobody should involve himself or herself in a trouble that would lead the person to jail. He emphasized that living in jail is awful, he emphasized.

Kwame Bonsu (born 25 September 1994) is a Ghanaian footballer who plays as a midfielder. He signed a 2, 5 year contract with Gefle IF in July 2015 after leaving Mjöllby

He first met his wife in 2014 when he was playing in the Southern Swedish city of Mjöllby and they married the following year.

A few months after the wedding he signed a transfer to the town of Gavle, located about 300 Kilometers away from Mjolby

The 23 year old footballer was sentenced to two years of prison for misconduct and rape against his Swedish wife. The Gavle District Court also decided to expel him from Sweden and he will pay damages of SEK 122, 00 to his wife.

The victim said the rape and beatings took place in the couple’s apartment during an evening in November 2015 when he had refused to let her out. Although Bonsu repeatedly denied the charges but his wife’s relatives gave a testimony which led the court to believe the victim’s side of the happenings

Kwame Konte uttered his appreciation to people who helped him when he was arrested. He first thanked his family members, his manager and Dan Kwaku Yeboah, a sports journalist for the love and support they have shown to him.
