DIANA HOPESON AND OBUOR WILL NOT TAKE OVER GHAMRO- AKOSUA AGYAPONG

Akosua Agyapong in an interview at AHOSEPE segment on BADWAM morning show at ADOM TV said she will not allow Diana Hopeson and Obuor to take over GHAMRO.

Akosua Agyapong is a Ghanaian female Highlife artiste and television personality. She is a member of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO).

During an interview at BADWAM morning show on AHOSEPE segment, Akosua was asked about the feature in Ghana music and she said “I feel bad about the way Ghana music has turned into because the feature in Ghana music is bad as a result of the leaders in the Musicians Union, if Diana Hopeson is listening, I will not allow you to take over GHAMRO”.

GHAMRO is a collective Management Organization which has been approved under copyright Act 690 and L1 1962. GHAMRO is affiliated to composers’ societies all over the world. GHAMRO is also approved by the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department to license, collect and distribute royalties to music authors and owners of copyright and related rights.

On the other hand, MUSIGA means Musicians Union of Ghana and it has been incorporated on 9th December, 1975 with registration number 8460 and has regional offices in all the ten regions of the country.

Akosua made further complaints that Diana Hopeson is the past president for MUSIGA and have shifted to GHAMRO as the Second Vice President and want to aspire for the position as the President of GHAMRO.

The highlife artiste, Akosua, later warned the current president for MUSIGA who is called Bise Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obuor to be careful about the way he handles welfare issues in MUSIGA. Akosua said she will not sit idle and watch the past president and current president of MUSIGA take over GHAMRO.
