FREQUENT GAS EXPLOSIONS BLAMED ON POOR QUALITY OF GAS FROM GHANA GAS

People have issued out the blame of frequent gas explosions on poor quality gas from Ghana gas.             Public Relation Officer at the Ghana Standards Authority Doctor Kofi Amponsah  Bediako says even though Ghana gas is odourless and difficult to detect leakage, has high pressure and easier to explode as well, it does not mean this type of gas caused frequent gas explosions.                                                                                                                                    Doctor Kofi Amponsah Bediako added that most dealers failed to comply with the standards of Ghana Standards Authority this is the reason for the frequent gas explosions.                                                                                                       Dr. Kofi Amponsah Bediako stated that the gas has elements such as propane and butane but the butane are in more quantities. He says the high pressure of the gas is due to these elements present in the gas. Dr. Bediako stated that the important thing is to keep the safety standards which will compel you to use the right gadgets.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Furthermore, he stated that the customers have been told what to do and this will prevent any threat to safety. It is also advisable to have gas stations far away from homes, gas stations should be at excluded sites in order for these stations not to have any contact with various houses. This will in turn, calm nerves down and restore the hope of living in a safe environment. Gas explosions are deadly and safety  precautions should be heeded to, seriously as possible for the well being of us all.
