Government has taken a decision to close down the sea today wednesday 15. Following this decision taken, some fishmongers are crying very seriously in the Central Region.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development took this decision so as to arrest what they described as the depletion of the country’s fish stock.
Briefly speaking, the people say they cannot afford to pay their children school fees if government refuses to hear their cry. For that matter, their kids will have to stay home till the sea is reopened for fishing activities to continue.
They further complained that the only occupation for the people of Gomoa West is Fishing. And so under this circumstance, survival will be very difficult.
On the other hand, the Best Fisherman for the Gomoa West District, Mr Appiah Bonsu has advised all fishermen not to act against authorities.
He said the closing down of the sea will rather benefit the fishermen. Mr Appiah Bonsu made this disclosure to Pink fm’s Kwesi Darko in the Central Region
