The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior, has claimed an attack on young Northern artiste, Mujahid Ahmed Bello, popularly known as Fancy Gadam.
According to the Tamale mayor, Fancy Gadam’s music talent is nothing but a waste and danger to the peace and stability of the people of the Northern Region.
The mayor who seems to have been angered by the conduct of the young musician, Fancy Gadam, has vowed to ban all musical concerts at the Tamale Sports Stadium after some fans of the artiste that were killed in an accident on Thursday June 29, ahead the artiste’s concert scheduled for the Tamale Sports Stadium.
The accident, which occurred in Tamale, took the lives of eight fans of the musician, with about 20 others experiencing serious injuries.
According to media reports, fans of Fancy Gadam on motorbikes clashed with a truck and other vehicles on their way to welcome Patoranking, a Nigerian artiste at the Tamale airport on Thursday.
This resulted to the death of eight of his fans and two other workers of Zylofon Media who had traveled to Tamale to support the concert.
The Tamale mayor in spite of expressing his frustrations about the ‘indiscipline’ nature of Fancy Gadam and his teaming fans accused the artiste of promoting lawlessness within the Tamale Metropolis all in the name of music.
He however blamed the young artiste of ‘sacrificing’ the lives of his fans in promoting his music career in Tamale.
“Fancy Gadam is an irresponsible talent. We are not going to allow one single individual to take Tamale to ransom. His talent is a danger to the people of Tamale. Do you want to use the blood of the people to make money? We will not allow it!” the mayor lamented.
Mayor Musah said,“Top musicians we are having in Accra anytime they’re having concert don’t do this. Why will Fancy Gadam do this? Such irresponsible lawless young man full of talent but his talent is a waste and a danger to Tamale. We are not going to allow that to continue”.
Nonetheless, some fans and management of the artiste, Fancy Gadam are asking the mayor to withdraw and apologize for blaming the artiste of engaging in ‘blood sacrifice’.
