Adrian Durham, a football Journalist and a broadcaster in United Kingdom claims England’s failures at recent tournaments were because of Arsene Wenger.
According to a post on express .co. uk an online platform for Daily Express in United Kingdom, the broadcaster said, “England hit glorious heights in 96, then nothing in 22 years with Arsene Wenger in the vicinity. He goes and all of a sudden England is glorious again”.
Durham claims the England National team’s (Three Lions’) failure in 22 years was because of Wenger’s presence in England. The 49 year old said, Wenger disappears from England and the England national team is performing very well.
Arsene Wenger is a French football manager and former footballer. The Frenchman is a former Arsenal coach. Arsenal is an English football club in England.
The French man managed the club from 1996 to 2018. He was the longest serving coach, managing the club for 22 years.
Arsene Wenger contributed to the English football through scouting players’, training and diet regimes. Wenger also aided in the globalization of sports in the 21st century.
As a manager, he won three Premier League trophies, seven FA cups and even community shield for the team but many criticized him for his poor performance as a coach for Arsenal football club and his inability to win a Champions League trophy for the club.
He resigned as the manager of the club on the April 2018. Unai Emery is currently Arsena’ls coach.
