A 6.6 magnitude earthquake hits the South of California during July 4 celebrations.
According to the US geographical survey(USGS), the earthquake was first reported near Searles Valley. The USGS said the earthquake began 11 miles from Ridgecrest California at 10:33 am.
Neighboring states including Nevada and several surrounding countries reported feeling the quake. The Las Vegas residents also shared footage from their homes as the quake struck.
Aftershocks of 4.7 and 3.0 magnitudes were reported about five minutes later
