CRIME RATE IN KASOA REDUCED

The Kasoa Divisional Police Command, Asp Joseph Ocloo Gyamerah has stated that crime rate in Kasoa and its environs has reduced drastically due to the police’s persistent fight against it.

This he said during the units maiden edition of “WASSA” on Friday at the headquarters of the command.

In his speech, Mr Gyamerah who commended his personnel for thus tremendous effort gave the statistics as follows: 19 robbery cases in the first quarter of 2015, 12 in the second quarter and 7 cases in the last quarter.

In the first quarter of 2016 5 cases has been recorded.

He attributed this to the effect of the streinpus measures such as “intensification of both vehicular and booth patrol, increasing visibility, identifying vulnerable and crime prone areas and with the introduction of motorbike patrols” taken by the unit.

He however appealed to all stakeholders to help them build a facility for the unit since the current building is been rented.

Asp Ocloo Gyamerah also emphasized the command’s readiness to ensure a violence free election and however admonished radio and TV broadcasters as well as contributors to radio programs to be very careful in their dialogue so that they don’t generate mayhem.
