COURT DECLARES OWNERS OF A LAND AT AVORNYO, ASHALAJA IN THE GA-SOUTH MUNICIPALITY

Her Honour Patricia Quansah, Circuit judge at Amasaman has ruled and declared on November 29th, 2017 that the land at Avornyo, Ashalaja in the Ga-South Municipality legally belongs to the Ghana National Tailor and Dressmakers Association (Taifa Zone).
Pink fm, following a phone call in relation to the demolishing exercise at Avornyo can confidently confirm that this action by the plaintiff, Ghana National Tailor and Dressmakers Association (Taifa Zone) per the chairman, Stephen Asomani owns the land and the defendants Emmanuel Agyare and Hasin Haruna has trespassed onto the land.
The Abusuapayin of the Akwando family Adams Addy as well as the Assembly man, Honourable Rashid Ati Quaye confirmed that the chiefs and elders legitimately sold the land for the Association.
According to the Abusuapayin, “the original land owners reported to him after seeing houses built on the land. Immediately, he suggested a court verdict to prevent any form of misunderstanding or conflict between the two parties”.
This action having been instituted by the plaintiff on the 28th of July, 2017 and judgement is entered in favour of the plaintiff on November 29th, 2017 by Her Honour Patricia Quansah, Circuit judge at Amasaman.
A report indicating the ownership of the land was then given to the Association which they later sent a copy to the Abusuapayin.
The court’s declaration has given the Ghana National Tailor and Dressmakers Association (Taifa Zone) full control and the order to demolish the houses on their land at Avornyo, Ashalaja in the Ga-South Municipality.
