Projects On-going In Awutu – Senya East Municipality – Municipal Chief Executive.

Municipal Chief Executive of Awutu – Senya  East, Hon. Micheal Essuman Mensah said in an interview on Pink fm’s ‘Morning Show’ that, projects  to be undertaken by the assembly have commenced .

During the interview, Hon Essuman Mensah stated that, the assembly has decided to undertake projects with regards to drainage as well as construction of good roads. He stated that the municipality has had problems with regards to flooding since the assembly spends a lot in solving the situation of flooding.

He blames residents who do not go for permits before building their houses, and also ensure that where they are going to build their houses are not water ways. He said “Drainage has become a problem for the assembly due to residents who build on water ways”. He therefore stated that some structures have been demolished in order for the construction of drainage systems.

With the issue on road construction in the assembly, he stated that the contractors have commenced work on the Opeikuma and Kaemebre roads. He also said a 1st – class road with proper drainage system was on-going from C-P junction to Larota junction. Also, a 1st –class 52 kilometers road from Citydia through to the Chief Imam’s residence all the way to Blue-Rose, Abaase, Walantu, C-P and finally to Roman junction had commenced.

He also said, the Regional Minister, Hon. Kwamena Duncan, Member of Parliament for Awutu-Senya East, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson as well as himself had gone for inspection on the various projects that had commenced.

He however, touched on some areas such as security and commended the police on security in Kasoa. He also said that the municipal as well as the police have outlined measures to combat crime in the municipality but also said it takes individual contributions to eliminate crime activities. Another area he touched on was with regards to aspiring members of parliament. He made it known that aspirants should step aside else they can be ‘one-term’ members of parliament but rather they should wait for the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson to resign on her own will since if they should contest, they are assured of total defeat.
