Claudio Bravo travels to Manchester

Manchester City’s signing of Claudio Bravo is imminent, with the player having touched down in the English city on Tuesday.

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez has said that there is already an agreement in principle between the two clubs for around 19.8 million euros – although the deal is not yet 100 percent finalised.

The goalkeeper will shortly complete a medical and sign on the dotted line for the Premier League club.

“The signing is not yet complete,” City coach Pep Guardiola said in the pre-match press conference for his side’s Champions League match against Steaua Bucharest.

“I cannot deny what is being said, but I’m not going to answer questions on a player who isn’t yet part of our squad.”

The arrival of the Chile captain will put English shot-stopper Joe Hart’s future in further doubt, as he has been dropped for the opening matches of the season despite having played almost 350 matches for the club since his 2006 arrival from Shrewsbury Town.

Clubs such as Everton, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing the 29-year-old once the ink dries on the Bravo transfer.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have reached an agreement to sign Ajax keeper Jasper Cillessen as the Chilean’s replacement.
