CHIEF CALLS FOR END TO DISPUTES AND RIVALRY AT GOMOA

The Development Chief, “Nkosuoshene” of Gomoa Fetteh in the Gomoa East District in the Central Region Nana Kow Ennyinda has called on various factions at the area to put an end to all disputes and rivalry in order to ensure development.

The Chief who was installed and bestowed upon with this honorable title some couple of days ago made this vital appeal when a group of journalists paid a courtesy call on him at his residence.

Addressing the journalists, Nana Ennyinda lamented on the fact that the area cannot develop at the expected pace due to issues of rivalry and disputes between various factions.

“My honest appeal is that we all eschew all manners that can give rise to disputes and violence and by so call on all aggrieved persons and factions to calm down. We need to wash away all disputes so that we as a people can together surge forward and develop our town” he stressed.

Nana Ekow Ennyinda also prayed aggrieved persons to contact his outfit so that he together with the other authorities can settle matters amicably.

On the side of social amenities, he called on government to intervene by extending electricity and water to newly developed areas of the Gomoa Fetteh township.

He also asked government to put the road network in good shape since that has become a headache to residents.

“Our road network is that bad, I therefore plead on the government to come to our aid. There is a by-pass here which when properly constructed would take you more than 30 minutes to get here from Accra. Since Kuffuor’s era we have been hearing that the road has been awarded to a contractor but we see nothing” he mentioned.

Gomoa Fetteh is known to be one of the powerful towns in the Gomoa area and well known for its nice beaches and resorts but the town has been witnessing disputes which results to clashes between factions which scares away investors and development partners. The Chief’s call is therefore seen as a very key and important one as the town seeks to emancipate from that mark.
