Obaatanhene of Gomoa Buduburan in the Gomoa East district at the central region, Nana Ekow Amoasi I and the unit committee members of Gomoa Buduburan have arrested seven young girls.
The arrest was held today, 18th July, 2018 when seven minors were arrested for engaging in prostitution as well as weed smoking which is mostly called ‘wee’.
According to Obaatanhene Nana Ekow Amoasi, Gomoa Buduburan has gotten out of hands due to excessive ‘wee’ smoking, gambling and prostitution whereby the youth in the town have decided to engage in.
Nana Ekow Amoasi who has served as chief in enforcing good living and morality among the youth and the people of Gomoa Buduburan stated that, he would continue to serve as a security officer and arrest this and any criminals that shows up at Gomoa Buduburan.
However, he added that due to increment in the population of Gomoa Buduburan by the prostitutes, the citizens are very furious about the situation.
“The real citizens of Gomoa Buduburan are very angry due to population increase by the prostitutes”.
Some prostitutes who use no protection are impregnated without father. Due to this, the young girls find it difficult to fend for themselves and their babies.
Obaatanhene of Gomoa Buduburan, Nana Ekow Amoasi again stated that when these prostitutes are being impregnated, they find it difficult to take care of their children, which leads to shortage of foodstuffs in the Gomoa Buduburan Township.
