CAPE COAST ASSEMBLY MEMBERS RAGED OVER MCE AND REGIONAL MINISTER’S DECISION.

Some Assembly Members of the Central Region have expressed displeasure about how the Municipal Chief Executive Hon.Ernest Arthur  and the Cape Coast Regional Minister Hon.Kwamena Duncan set up a committee without the entire assemblies consent.

According to them, the assembly is the highest division, hence any decision should be passed to the assembly for further implementation and approval and should not be left in the hands of few people for approval.

Speaking to the Cape Coast Assembly Member for the Kyeame-Tsease Electoral Area ,Geoerge Arthur he mentioned that, the MCE and the Regional Minister should come back and provide records to the assembly concerning their decision .

He again mentioned that the assembly will hold a press conference today at the Kotokraba Market to deliberate on some of the issues pertaining to market allocations in the area.He explained that some traders have been denied their rightful market allocations as their places have been given out to people illegally. Thus, denying those who have the legal permission.

He however stressed that the assembly had given a 5 day autimatum to the MCE and the Regional Minister to come and explain to the assembly about their decision to setting up a committee but proved futile as the autimatum ends today. As a result, the assembly is set to embark on a demonstration tomorrow.

He has urged the MCE and the Regional Minister to respect the assembly which stands as the highest division before implementing decisions.
