Bureau of Ghanaian languages Encourages Parents To Train Wards With Local Languages

The head of Asante Twi section at the Bureau of Ghanaian languages, madam Adwoa Apraku has appealed to the government to  help upgrade their status to  Authority level.
Stating that  when the Bureau is  upgraded they will have enough power to oversee the wrong use of the local languages .
she Indicated that,  all parents should endeavor to allow their wards to speak their local dialects at home and stick to the English language, when in school.
She also said that  some people cannot speak the various local languages fluently.
According to her,  this is to exercise more authority on the misuse and mispronunciation of Asante Twi and other local languages.
Madam Apraku disclose this to Pink Fm reporter Osei Nyankonton,  she advised that  all parents should train their wards with the local languages in turn  “when they grow up they will not depart from it”.
