Bechem United through to MTN FA Cup finals

Bechem United are through the finals of this year’s MTN FA Cup after they defeated Wa Rockets 2-0 in the first semi final game played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on Sunday.

Both teams were looking forward to make their first ever appearance at the grand finale of the competition with Wa Rockets dominating the game in the first half despite a stalemate at the break.

Three minutes into the second half, Hamza Mohammed put Bechem United ahead after he drove the ball in from a through pass.

Wa Rockets fought for an equaliser and came closer a few times until Richard Baffour scored in the 70th to put the ball beyond the reach of the second tier side.

Bechem United will know their opponents for the final match after the second semi final game which is being played at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday evening.

The final match has been scheduled for the New Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday September 4.

Meanwhile, the second semi final game between Liberty Profesionals and Okwehu United ended 1-1 but The Asaseaban Boys beat Liberty on penalties to reach the final
