Candidates who qualify to write the Basic Education Certificate Examination(B.E.C.E) commence today, June 4 2018. All are set for their papers.
During the studies of students in the Junior High level, there have been some difficulties as teachers are always on their toes to ensure students are able to gain deep understanding of what is being taught and also bring forth questions for them to be addressed.
For the headmasters and teachers to ensure effective learning of students, they tend to organize mocks and making them prep to get prepared for the task ahead.
In an interview, some students expressed how best they were prepared towards the exams saying,” it’s been a tough time from January to this time. Our teachers are always on our neck to study so that we don’t end up disgracing our school. This has really put us on our toes and we have the courage that we can make it”.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) as part of their activities played a crucial role by enlightening and orienting candidates on what to do and what not to do so that they stay at a safer side to write their papers, said the headmaster of Maranata Kids Academy Emmanuel Amenyo.
According to Benjamin Boampong a teacher of Top Town International school, not all students were being allowed to part take in this year’s B.E.C.E. This is because, the performance of some students are not encouraging and this has caused candidates to be selected based on their academic performance in class. This is not to select the best but then those that we have confidence in them that they can make it to sit in for the exams.
