CHANTAN DRIVERS BANISH HON. AYORKOR BOTCHWEY.

Drivers of “Chantan” lament over their road system and has therefore indicated that, Honorable Shiley Ayorkor Botchwey should not step foot at Chantan to request for their vote.

According to the Drivers, honorable Ayorkor Botchwey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Anyaa-Sowutuom  fail to deliver her promises to the township of “Chantan” concerning their road system leading from Lapaz new Market to Chantan market. In an interview with the Drivers at Chantan Market, they gave their explicit thought.

A trotro Driver popularly known as Paa Joe said, “ the road is very bad, it has spoiled some of us our vehicles, as am talking to you, am just coming from a mechanic shop”.He Added, “Ayorkor promised us that, she will see to it that our road is in good shape when voted into power  but failed to deliver, therefore, she will never step foot here again for our vote”.

Chantan GPRTU chairman, Okulu pointed out that, they have been to the office of the honorable Minister several time but to no avail and they have decided to embark on a demonstration. A resident added that, his wife has had a miscarriage due to the poor road network therefore the government must come to their aid.

However, the Assemblyman for “Chantan”, Mr. Sheriff Fathah told pinkfm that “I know the road is in bad shape but measures have been put in place to ensure the road is in good shape”.  He mentioned that, they used to have a Metro-Mass transport bus that ran from Chantan to Accra and due to the bad road; the bus has left the place.

He concluded that, by the end of this month, the national unit for urban roads in connection with the MP for Anyaa-Sowutuom and the assembly will be cutting sod to begin construction.
