AUDIO: WE WERE INSOLENT, THAT LED TO OUR DEFEAT- NDC OFFICER

The National Democratic Congress is yet to ascertain the factors that contributed to their heavy defeat in the 2016 elections.

The party has therefore tasked a committee led by Prof. Kwesi Botchway to gather those factors as well as concerns from the various parts of the country from party faithfuls.

Even though the committee is yet to hand over it’s findings expected to the party, Solomon Nkansah, National Communications Officer of the party has revealed that a major factor that sent them to opposition is the insolent behaviors that characterized the activities of the party’s officials prior to the elections.

“People say we were insulting elders but we were not, we were only insolent, we were responding to assertions of the elderly like chiefs and pastors of which you know that our social setting is against. So even though we did not insult them and was only discharging our duties, people said we were insulting. But we have learnt from our mistakes, maybe we shouldn’t have responded to some assertions from some people like we recently conducted ourselves well by not responding to Professor Martey” he confessed to Kwame Obeng Sarkodie on Pink Fm.

He however, stated that the findings and official report of the Professor Botwe’s committee shall be “used as a policy document of the NDC -which the NPP lack- and when strictly adhere to shall result to the come back of the NDC in the 2020 elections.

However, the communications officer stated that it was rather the New Patriotic Party that resorted to the use of insults and unguarded languages since most of the reports that were issued by the Media Foundation for West Africa had the NPPs topping the list but that was not felt because they were by then in opposition.
