Asomdwee Park, a very special place to Ghanaians. This park holds the remains of our former late president, John Evans Atta Mills. The place is now in a very bad shape.
A place that has been in existence from 2012 – 2019 now looks like a place of old. This park is supposed to be a good resting place and a memorable place for the late president and Ghanaians, but has lost its value now.
This is because the place has been abandoned. The government has ignored the place totally. Due to this, the place has become very awkward.
Wee smokers have invaded the place now and are using the place for their smoking activities and other deeds. The tomb of the late president has being turned to a place where wee smokers sit to puff out smoke.Weeds have grown all over the place.
Moreover, part of the fence of the park has been broken down. With all this the current government seem not to care about it or even bothered. This shows the lack of respect we have for the late president.
Former deputy chief of staff, Dr Valerie Sawyerr in a recent post on Facebook has lambasted the current government on their inability to maintain the Asomdwee Park.
In her post, she made it known that the NDC is ready to manage the place well, since the current government is incapable of doing it.
In order, for the park to be in good shape, the government is being called upon to do what is needed of them. Thus to make the place secure and tidy to show reverence to our late president.
