African Green Revolution Forum: New Policy needed

During the African Green Revolution Forum 2019, a press conference has taken place.

AGRA President Dr Agnes Kalibata appeals to African leaders to improve things with regard to the continent’s agriculture and a new policy in the agricultural sector needed.

Dr. Kalibata gave a speech on the occasion of this year’s African Green Revolution forum. She explains that the African people can no longer ignore climate change. Especially the people in the agricultural sector have to accept this. There is an urgent need to do something about it and find a solution.

She also stresses how helpful this forum is to the people. An opportunity to exchange ideas and gather new ideas on digitisation in agriculture.

Furthermore, the Executive Director of the CIGAR Systems Organization, Elwyn Grainge-Jones, adds. He says he is there to create a basic plan. So that Africa can compete in the global agricultural arena. In his opinion, the main focus is on working with partners. This is the only way that digitisation in agriculture can work in Africa.
