AFRICA, THE HELPLESS CONTINENT?

Mainstream Western media generally portray Africans in a negative perception. Representations such as hunger, poverty, corruption, greed, selfishness, and savagery dominate news report on African.

According to the Western countries, Africans are helpless and dependent on other neighboring countries. The question is what are we doing to help ourselves? Are we doing more harm or good to ourselves?

We are not only poor, dependent and helpless but also dirty. A “normal” human being will sit in his or her house bag garbage and wait still it rains and then dispose it into the gutter with the perception of it being carried away. Is the gutter your errand girl or boy? You might ask what is wrong with those people.

In Ghana you go to various market squares and the first thing your eyes set on is RUBBISH. All gutters due to the disposure of refuse in them are being choked. Why must it be so?  I sometimes asked if we have leaders in Ghana or we are all spectators, if we are, then it is time we stop being spectators and rise up as a nation, since Ghana is a respected country in West Africa.

The ambassadors of poverty politicians whose head abroad and anus in Ghana, will use the little money the country has to organize big campaigns and rallies during election, what kills most is what supposed to be the national cake will be given to the “high class” in the society and the poor people will still be suffering.

After spending  a huge sum of money to buy cars and  items to influence people to vote them into power, they then go to these Western countries for aid which comes with terms and condition, be sincere to yourself , won’t they see you as dependent and hopeless? .

You don’t have money to develop your economy but you have money to patronize cars and fuel them for your Members of Parliament, give them sitting allowances, meanwhile the people you sought help from don’t give those incentives to their Members of Parliament but rather pay them to buy whatever they want on their own from their monthly salaries.

They call you names and you are offended, I’m sorry, let raise up Africa, especially Ghana and change our ways.
