The residents of Offinso Municipality are currently in the state of mourn as an 8 year-old girl has been allegedly gunned down by a fetish priest.
This disturbing incident happened last Saturday evening during a ritual festival.
The Assembly Member for Amowi Electoral Area, Hon. Patience Amponsah, affirmed the incident yesterday on Time FM’s morning show.
She explained that the 8 year-old girl who is in class two was sent by her mother to go and buy bread. After some moment of not returning home, her parents set out to look for her. They later heard the news of their daughter’s death.
“During the incantation, the fetish priest was visiting various homes. Out of curiosity, the girl followed the priest to his house when she was sent to go and buy bread”, Hon. Amponsah narrated.
What is more, another person was severely wounded after he was hit by a bullet on the thigh. However, he is currently responding to medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the fetish priest is yet to be identified. Hon. Amponsah confirms that police have delved into investigations.
The remains of the deceased has long been deposited at the nearby morgue for further examination.
