SAMIRA BAWUMIA AND OTHER DIGNITARIES LAUDS MANASSEH AZURI

Ace journalist, Manasseh Azure has received commendations from the Founder of Salt and Light Ministries, Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee and Second Lady, Samira Bawumia for his latest book, ‘Letters to My Wife’.

The book which was launched on Wednesday at Christ the King Parish hall in Accra is a collection of letters the investigative journalist wrote to an imaginary wife, Serwaa, before he eventually tied the knot with Rebecca Eduafo-Abraham.

Although the letters are mainly the products of the writer’s creative mind, readers can identify with almost every situation in those letters. While spicing them with witty African proverbs that give readers the mature flavour that must accompany the thought-provoking pieces, Manasseh uses the simple and conversational tone to convey deep messages.

Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee who was the Chairperson for the event expressed her admiration for Manasseh’s writing skills and emphasized that the book would serve as a guide for relationships.

“When you read this book, you realize that everything in it is so real. For me, I’m going to use it as part of my counselling materials… It is such an easy read,” she said.

Special guest, Samira Bawumia indicated that the book was pregnant with lessons.

“I’m particularly intrigued by the book, ‘Letters to My Future Wife’ because of a number of reasons. Manasseh is a very good storyteller who uses everyday experiences to creatively tell compelling stories about the means of life and its intricacies. Even if you disagree with the content, you are still entertained by the writer’s dexterity and the quality of what you read. I also find this publication interesting because of the enormous lessons it presents to its readers. This book contains lessons for the single and the married, the young and the old, the naïve and experienced as well as any open-minded person who is ready to learn from the experiences of others.” she stated.

The first copy of the book was auctioned at GHC10,000. The event emceed by Abdul Hayi Moomen of GTV was attended by former deputy Tourism minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Ace Ankomah, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), journalists and friends of Manasseh Azure.
