KWESI TWUM DIDN’T WANT ME TO LEAVE JOY FM- BOLA RAY

Chief Executive Officer of Excellence In-Broadcasting (EIB Network), Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi has disclosed his former boss at Multimedia, Kwesi Twum was opposed to quitting from the Kokomlemle based Joy FM.

Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray explains, Twum was impressed with his performance and might be the reason he did not want him to leave.

Bola Ray was speaking to host of Abusua Drive Time show, Ike De-Unpredictable on the occasion of his 40th birthday celebration which falls on Wednesday March 1, 2017 and which also coincides with his 20 years careers as a radio icon.

The EIB Network CEO said the creation of the media organisation became necessary because there was the pressing need to create employment for other people.

He reveals, EIB directly employs 402 workers across the country and wondered where these people would have been if he had not set out to establish the company.

“Ike, there was the need to leave after paying so much dues at my former station. Today as I’m talking to you, we have employed 402 people under EIB and I sometimes wonder where these people would have been if we had not employed them,” he said.

”It was a tough decision leaving Multimedia as my former CEO didn’t want it and indeed when an employer doesn’t want you to go, it means he appreciates your contribution to the growth of his business and so I was glad he didn’t want me to leave, but it became very necessary for me to leave,” he disclosed.

The entertainment big-boy exited Joy FM, drawing down the curtains on an illustrious 11 years career as host of multiple award-winning show, Drive Time.

Anokye Adisi popularly known as Bola Ray joined Joy FM in 2003 from Top Radio and made 3pm to 8pm time slot a hotspot for great music, great discussions on work, family and relations.

Drive Time with Bola Ray which won 2012 CIMG Radio Programme of the year, was a show that entertained workers and literally drove them home.

From D.J presenter, Bola Ray evolved into an entertainment enterprenuer setting up Empire Group of Companies include Empire Entertainment and Empire 102.7 FM in Takoradi.

Bola made July a calender event with an international entertainment collaboration ‘‘Ghana Meets Naija’ where top hip-pop artistes in the two countries slug it out in Accra.

Bola Ray is a graduate of the University of Ghana and holds an MBA from Atis Business School, Milan Italy. ‘Bola’ means ‘big’, ‘Ray’ means light.
