The Tema Metropolitan Assembly’s Community Development Unit in collaboration with the Rural water Development Program of the Church of Christ and the Ranner Hospital Foundation has joined the the rest of the world to Celebrate Global Hand washing Day.
The event which officially was slated for 15 October was observed today with a grand durbar at the TMA Basic School (Klagon) under the theme :MAKE HAND WASHING A HABIT.
Speaking with pink news,Head of the community development unit at TMA, Ms Theresa Anefi said their main aim on this day is to create awareness to the general public to inculcate the habit of always wash their hands with water and soap.
On his side, Chief of Klagon Nii Bortey Klan (I) has called on Ghanaians to practice the habit washing the hand with soap before meals and not the other way round.
He also suggested to the TMA to invite the private institution when doing such programs.
