Ekow Micah’s ‘Political Malaria’ Concert Set On 21st September At Akuma Village

Veteran Highlife musician turned Root Music artist, Nester Ekow Micah, is set to rock the Akuma Village in Accra come 21st September, which actually marks Kwame Nkrumah’s birthday which is also a public holiday.

The musician, who was not long ago, acquitted and discharged by an Accra High Court for falsely possessing weed, has not performed any major show since his freedom from the shackles of the law – but has told the media that “come 21st September, come and meet the ‘Mesi wo hema’ and ‘Nsuohye3’ hitmaker once again for a ‘bad’ performance dubbed Political Malaria. Catch you Nati!”

Asked what he means by ‘Political Malaria’ he said, “Simple. Anyone who insults in the name of politics, can’t tolerate others divergent opinions, incite violence, disrespect people in authority by hiding behind a political party, or any untoward behavior fueled by politics is suffering from ‘Political Malaria.”

He continued, “So, the concert is therefore a campaign tool to preach patriotism and tolerance amongst ourselves. The official song for Political Malaria is ready and can be enjoyed on the day. Many dignitaries shall be present to have fun and to give speech to enlighten the people on conscious high thinking. Tickets are going for GHC 30 and can be bought at the venue.”

Artists billed to perform are: Akosua Agyapong, Tic Tac, Wutah Kobby, Jay Ampofo, SP Kofi Sarpong, and Ekow Micah himself as the main artist. Also featuring are; Queen Haziel, Chezy Wailer, Original Bingh, Royal Son, Osagyefo the Simple Entertainer. Special guest for the occasion are, Hon. Zenator Rawlings and Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare.

The ‘Nsuohye3’ hit maker, faced trial for possessing weed in his house but was duly acquitted and discharged – after it emerged that the weed was actually planted in his house by the police earlier and the same police went to his house to do a search, found the substance, and arraigned him to court to face malicious prosecution.
